Your Reputation: Does It Matter?

One can survive everything nowadays, except death, and live down anything, except a good reputation. – Oscar Wilde, writer

We really like this quote from Wilde because it makes us smile, while also reminding us of the importance of having a reputable name.

How do you get a good reputation?

Many people seem to think it is by calling attention to the good things that you do. Or by getting others to promote you to people who matter.

But our sense is that earning a good reputation requires more consistency than that.

When you do the right thing – even when you think no one is looking – people begin, over time, to take notice.

So today, do not grow weary in well doing, my friends!

Continue to do the right thing, knowing that it is important to your own peace, and also to building the sort of reputation that will live long beyond your own time here on earth.
